Now Mandala

Franklin Pierce Lake, 2022

In my work, mandalas provide symmetrical structures for moving meditation and represent the cohesion of the universe.  Working with mandala imagery, I synthesize meditation and yoga practices with visual expression through symmetrical compositions, color, and line. In winter 2022, I created a series of mandalas using a large contraption nicknamed the “O-tractor” that spanned a large swath of the frozen lake.  It engaged local audiences who might not normally participate in public art projects and those fishing in nearby bob houses on the lake.
